Welcome to Second Sock Syndrome

My first sock is all finished and, wonder of wonders, it actually looks like a sock.

My first sock!

Darn this people having two feet thing. Oh, well. It could be worse. I could be a millipede.

As a break from the pair o’ socks, I’ve cast on for another SWS seed stitch scarf with big needles, because it is an addiction. This is my third, but the other two were presents for people and I want one of my own. Mine mine all mine. This colourway is called Natural Green, but I’ve just started the scarf and I haven’t even gotten to a green part yet!

You can get a better idea of the colours if you scroll down here, and now I have to drool over the colours that aren’t yet available in Saint John (Natural Green is actually one of them, but I picked up a couple of balls in Halifax this summer). I really should have gotten some Natural Violet when I saw it in Bangor, because it is right purty.

Tonight I have been alternately reading Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich and winding skeins of embroidery floss onto bobbins. I can’t find my bobbin winder, and doing it by hand is really, really boring, which is why I need to alternate it with some other activity. I think I need to buy a new bobbin winder for my floss tomorrow. It’ll certainly be easier than looking for the old one. I know what that says about the state of my apartment, but I’d prefer not to think about it.
