Mega Man Is Two-faced
Or rather, Mega Man’s face is two-toned. I can’t decide which colour to use for his face, which is why I’ve still got a few stitches left. I did half of his face in the colour that I thought would look best (DMC 3855) and then half of his face in the colour that PC Stitch recommended (DMC 743), and whenever I decide which one I like better, I’ll rip the other one out and redo that part. I thought the 743 would be too yellow, but the 3855 looks kind of light, and aargh.

My mom decided that for Christmas, she wants me to cross stitch her the Renaissance Angel design from the December 1992 issue of Cross Stitch & Country Crafts magazine. She’s supplying the materials; I’m supplying the labour.

I realize you can’t actually see the design all that well in this photo, but I’ll take another one someday. I’m going to be working on this for a long, long time (not that I’ve started yet). She doesn’t want it to say “1992,” of course, but she doesn’t want it to say “2007” either, which is a relief. Yay, a little bit less to stitch!
Mom bought me all that floss at Michaels, and she bought herself a whole bunch of beading stuff. Even though the picture I took of the bracelet I made last month was so bad that I wouldn’t even post it on the blog, when I sent the photo to my mom she liked it so much that she’s gotten into beading. My brother’s girlfriend, my mom, and I made some jewelry while I was in Halifax. I haven’t taken any photos of my new bracelets yet, but you can see one that Mom made for herself.

The bunny belongs to my brother’s girlfriend.
The only yarn store I made it to was The Loop, due to lack of time. I bought a bit of yarn and oohed and aahed over the little tiny Weavette looms. I was also completely weirded out when I noticed that Crystal Palace Taos appears to be identical to Twilleys Freedom Spirit. Seriously, Taos Painted Desert and Freedom Spirit Energy look exactly the same. What the hey? (Ria, I would’ve brought you back a ball of it if it didn’t cost $3.00 more than I paid than my mom paid for the Freedom Spirit.)
My mom’s knitting this Angel Baby blanket for my as-yet-unborn cousin. Oops, I must remember to knit booties for it sometime before it starts attending school. I must also remember to send Mom the link to Loom Knitters Circle, the new loom knitting online magazine, because she might be able to find some patterns she’d like to try.
And now for something completely different. Recently, I saw the weirdest graffiti I’ve come across in a while.

Use the bathroom at the KFC in Oromocto if you want to see it for yourself.

I was actually wondering the other day about public using the KFC bathroom…there isn’t really anywhere to sit inside to eat, so I’m usually just there to pick something up and leave.

Quebec is gay, huh? Think someone ought to tell Quebec that? :p

I was in Oromocto for nearly eight hours, because I had a doctor’s appointment at 1:00 p.m. and the next bus back to Saint John didn’t leave until 6:13 p.m. I went to the KFC for lunch because it ’s practically across the street from the doctor’s office and I had KFC coupons. I didn’t have anywhere else to take my food, so I had to eat it there. The gross thing is that they don’t have any trays. I ate my fries directly out of the paper bag because I didn’t want them to spill out of the fry container and land on the counter. Ew.
