Mega Man Is Two-faced

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Or rather, Mega Man’s face is two-toned. I can’t decide which colour to use for his face, which is why I’ve still got a few stitches left. I did half of his face in the colour that I thought would look best (DMC 3855) and then half of his face in the colour that PC […]

IN THE YEAR OF 200X…

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

This is the video game sprite cross stitch I started the other day. It’s on 18-count pale blue Aida, although it doesn’t look pale blue here.

For anyone who’s played the game, it should be obvious what character this is, even only half-finished, but for anyone who hasn’t played, this is Mega Man from Capcom’s Mega […]

Freud Would Have a Field Day with This

Friday, March 16th, 2007

The swatch I knit is probably bigger than the finished objects are going to be.

They’re going to be baby booties made from Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky in Persian Peacock, and they will be for my new cousin who is unborn as of yet, but slated to arrive sometime next month. I did not exactly […]

It Really Does Exist

Monday, March 12th, 2007

The seed stitch scarf I made in Patons SWS exists, that is. I used most of two balls of the Natural Earth colourway and it’s 15 stitches to a row on 9-mm needles. I didn’t measure it, but I’ll estimate it at approximately five-and-a-half feet long and five inches wide.

It’s ironic that it took forever […]

Today’s Colours

Friday, March 9th, 2007

The seed stitch scarf in earth tones is on the bed, blocking, in the hopes that this will make its ends look neater. We shall see. The bedspread is bright red, which clashes horribly with earth tones, which is just another reason to look forward to unpinning it.
The Winnie-the-Pooh cross stitch currently resembles nothing so […]

It’s Not Much of a Tail, but I’m Sort of Attached to It

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

Eeyore is finished, and I was so dedicated to showing his colours accurately that I went outside when it was -26°C with the wind chill, just so I could get a photo in natural light. The things I do for you, Eeyore.

Now that I’ve finished Eeyore, I’m going to do a Winnie-the-Pooh. I’ve also got […]

The Continuing Saga of Eeyore

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

To distract from the lack of scarf photos, I present you with my further progress on Eeyore.

I only have a bit of blue left to do on the outside of his ear, but it’s mostly fractional stitches and it’s a total pain in the ass. I recently made a mistake on the ear and fixing […]

We Can’t All, and Some of Us Don’t

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

There are a couple of scarves that I finished actually knitting ages ago (seriously, one I finished in October) but I think they could use some light blocking before I consider them ready to wear or to photograph. I hope to get around to that this weekend, but in the meantime, here is some pretty […]
