Tigers Sort of Moo

The Goldielocks shawl is going infuriatingly slowly because I have to keep checking to make sure I’m not adding extra stitches. Curse you, curly, skinny, slippery (but oh so pretty) yarn.

The scarf I started last night appears to be the perfect antidote, though.

Patons Soy Wool Stripes, Natural Earth colour, in seed stitch. On big needles. 9mm. It goes so quickly. Very gratifying.

My boyfriend and I rented a car last weekend and went many places, including London-Wul Fibre Arts. It would be wonderful to go there sometime when I am not unemployed and broke. I still bought some wool and alpaca roving with sparkle in it and two balls of Mission Falls 1824 Wool in an orange colour. I normally prefer cool colours, but my favourite colours of 1824 Wool are the warm ones. I sort of want to eat them.

We also went to the zoo and I spent a long time watching the tigers. My camera was running low on batteries, so my pictures leave a lot to be desired. We discovered that tigers make a sort of mooing noise when they’re not growling. Or at least it sounded that way to us.

There were also some fibre-bearing animals, such as this Jacob sheep.

Although I’ve got plenty of knitting to do, I might not be blogging for a couple of weeks because tomorrow I’m going to visit my family for the holidays and I won’t have access to my own computer until I get back, of course. I’ll try to at least take some photos while I’m gone so that I can post them when I get back.

I love the look of seed stitch, and the colours in the scarf make me want to go out and buy a bunch of that yarn for myself now!

    Have a good holiday!
