Yarn + Books = Joy

There have been a couple of yarn sales at Michaels recently. This is a good thing. Not all of my recent purchases are pictured below, however — there was also some Patons Soy Wool Stripes in Natural Pink, but it will get its own photo someday. And maybe it’ll get a little shrine, as well. I haven’t used it yet, but it sure looks nice.

I love that you can use the weekly 40% off coupons on books. This is dangerous for someone like me. It also means that I will own a copy of Mason-Dixon Knitting someday. I am madly in love with the knitted cupcakes in One Skein and hope to make a fleet of them. In the very far-off future. When I’m finished with the holiday scarves.

Speaking of books, I was also ridiculously excited last night at the bookstore (I start a lot of sentences that way) when I saw the new Klutz crochet kit for kids. The book is by the same author who wrote the book in the Klutz knitting kit, which I love. I think it’s great for kids (and even some adults) who want to learn to knit, so I see the crochet kit in my future, too.

I’m getting more work done on the rainbow ribbed scarf now that I’m at work nine hours a day than I was when I was home all day doing nothing. Funny how that works. If you want something done, ask a busy person. I do expect my busy-ness to reach ridiculous levels soon, though, since it is almost November, and you know what that means. As of this moment, the scarf is approximately forty-one inches long.
